Mortal Under Gear was started by Michael Kasselman and Kurt McPhail in Wichita, KS. The duo crossed paths while both were business owners in Mulvane, KS. They shared a passion for innovative and enjoyable business strategies.

Kasselman has a rich history in the local nightclub scene as a DJ in Wichita's LGBT+ community. He was the organizer of the "Sexy Underwear Contest," a yearly event at Our Fantasy Complex for five consecutive years. The contest was celebrated for its impressive prize offerings. Kasselman remains a prominent figure in Wichita's nightlife. Today he is known as "The current-longest running gay DJ" in Wichita, KS.

McPhail had a huge passion traveling, and business. He was a long-time member of the World Poker Tour (WPT) family who founded the WPT League back in 2007 and operated the WPT at Sea Poker Room on Virgin Voyages. Sadly our friend Kurt McPhail passed away in July of 2024. He is one of those guys who will be missed by many!!
